It’s January, which means the excitement of the holidays–and the holiday break—are both over. Since we’re in Pennsylvania, we have several more months before the weather is likely to get much warmer and snow could be in the forecast at any time. This is the time of year when some lucky people travel to warm climates to escape the cold temperatures and frosty windshields.
If the only travel on your schedule (and in your budget) is between home and school or home and work, the library can help cheer up your dreary days and long nights with our books showcasing exciting and exotic travel destinations.
- If you dream of beautiful beaches, check out the breathtaking photography in 50 Most Beautiful Islands of the World.
- If you would love to explore cultural destinations, we have World Heritage Sites: A Complete Guide to 1,007 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
- If you want to plan your summer road trip now, then National Geographic Guide to National Parks of the United States or 1,000 Places to See in the USA and Canada Before You Die might be helpful.
- Looking for some ideas once you retire and/or win the lottery? Journeys of a Lifetime: 500 of the World’s Greatest Trips or Unforgettable Places: Unique Sites and Experiences Around the World would keep you busy for years.
All of these books, plus many others, are on display and available for checkout at the library. Take one (or more) home and plan your next getaway (real or fantasy) from the warmth of your living room.
