The Knight News Media Club – in its third term now – has elected officers and boasts a robust roster of members.
But as with many start-up clubs, it has little equipment, and so is holding a soup sale fundraiser.
The sale began last week, with members, and coadvisors Paul Miller and Michael Lear-Olimpi, taking orders.
The soups are Maryland crab, which costs $4 a cup, and chicken-corn noodle, chili and a vegan option of hearty vegetable soup, each at $3 a cup.
Pre-orders will be taken through tomorrow (Tuesday).
The club will have a table with the soup in the second-floor ATEC lobby on Thursday from 11 a. m. to 1 p.m.to ladle it out for delivery to buyers/club supporters, and to sell on site (while it lasts!).
Media Club members are reporters and photographers who write blog articles and take photographs to illustrate those stories, which focus on Central Penn student life and campus happenings. They also help with other club activities as needed.
The club is looking to start podcasting, but must share equipment, and so is holding the soup sale as its first official fundraiser for cash to buy its own podcasting equipment.
