Who We Are

The Center for Teaching excellence supports the College’s commitment to continuous improvement by promoting an awareness of industry trends; furthering the scholarship of pedagogy to foster innovation; and engaging in collegial conversation about the aims and methods of teaching.

What We Do

Our blog publishes articles relevant to current conversations in higher education, championing innovation in student-centered teaching.  We emphasize the importance of pedagogy and seek to provide faculty members with best practices for implementing new innovation in the classroom.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions should follow best practices for the blog format, including length (500-1000 words), tone (informal), and point of view (first person).

Best Practices

Our readers are looking for articles about current and innovative teaching topics that they can use in their classrooms.  Typically, an article we publish will begin by discussing the pedagogy on the topic and then give a few (3-5) best practices for implementation.  We like it if authors can hyperlink to sources and/or include a references section.  We suggest that you spend some time reading through our articles to get a sense of what we’re looking for.

If you’re ready, you can submit your article, a short biography (2-3 sentences), and professional photo (if you so desire) to We look forward to hearing from you.
