Ethnic Studies learning tract discussions

The Office of Diversity and Global Education and the School of General Education and Humanities are in early discussions about the implementation of an ethnic studies general education tract for Central Penn degree seeking students. The purpose of this initiative will be to offer students multiple perspectives of the world we live in and challenge their framework of individual realities. With a set tract of courses students will be able to take from enrollment through graduation, the program will offer students the opportunity to engage in complex critical thinking and meet cultural competency outcomes. The ethnic studies program will serve to provide safe academic spaces for all to learn the histories, cultures, and intellectual traditions of global ethnic communities. The program will focus on ethnographical studies, sociological concepts and historical relevance. Please look out for more updates as planning continues.
