Central Penn students have the opportunity to earn college credits towards their major for their professional work experience, we’ll discuss the qualifications to earn work life credits. The credits earned through professional experience shorten the length of their education saving them time and money.

Financial Aid Deadline

Have you submitted your FAFSA? The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and if you’re planning on starting at Central Penn College anytime in the next year, you will need to complete the FAFSA if you haven’t done so already. Central Penn’s recommended deadline was this week, so make sure top get started right away!

[box type=”info”] If you’re a Pennsylvania resident, it’s especially important to submit your FAFSA by May 1 at the absolute latest so that you can be considered for the PA state grant.[/box]

If you haven’t submitted your FAFSA yet, here are some helpful tips for you to finish it up as soon as possible!

  1. If you haven’t already gotten a PIN, go to www.pin.ed.gov to request yours as soon as possible.
  2. When you have your pin, start your FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov.
  3. To save lots of time and paperwork, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool for both students and parents.
  4. Make sure to add Central Penn’s school code to your FAFSA! Our school code is 004890.
  5. Answer every question on the FAFSA, even if it seems unnecessary!

Last Chance for Many Scholarships!

You Can: Apply for Financial Aid!

Now that it’s after January 1st, you can start the process of applying for financial aid if you’re planning on starting classes at Central Penn in summer or fall 2014! Please follow the recommended steps below:

  1. File your taxes: After you have all of the necessary documents, electronically file your 2013 federal tax return (for you and a parent you live with, if applicable) as soon as you can.
  2. Order your PIN: You and a parent you live with (if applicable) need to order a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov to electronically sign documents. If you have filed the FAFSA in prior years and have forgotten your PIN, request a duplicate.
  3. Wait: Wait at least two weeks for your taxes to be processed.
  4. Complete your FAFSA: Complete the 2014-2015 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov, using your and your parents (if applicable) 2013 taxes. Use the ‘IRS Data Retrieval Tool’ when completing the FAFSA. Be sure to add Central Penn’s school code: 004890.

Pennsylvania Residents: You must list your email address on the FAFSA so the PHEAA state grant agency can email you additional paperwork.

Remember that it is very important to file your FAFSA by April 15th, 2014 in order to be considered for the most financial aid! After you’ve submitted your FAFSA, you will receive more information about what else you need to do to finish the process of applying for financial aid.

Scholarship Applications are Open!

SENIORS! Now is the time to start applying for scholarships at Central Penn College! Our scholarships are open now, and there are two deadlines for applying. The early bird deadline is January 1st, and the final deadline is April 1st.

Below are some of the scholarships that you may qualify to apply for:

  • Academic Scholarship: Open to 2014 graduates who have a 3.5 GPA or higher. Worth $1,000 per term for your entire education (6 terms for an associate degree, 10 terms for a bachelor’s degree).*
  • Opportunity Scholarship: Open to 2014 graduates who are residents of Pennsylvania and have a 2.8 GPA or higher. Worth $500 per term for your entire education (up to 10 terms).*
  • FBLA/DECA Scholarship: Open to 2014 graduates who are current members of FBLA or DECA and have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Worth $1,000 total, awarded over your first three terms of tuition.*

For those of you who will be starting at Central Penn College in July or October of this year, you’ve probably already thought about the costs of attending college, especially while you were working on your FAFSA.
